WHAT IS LNB?
LNB Means low-noise block downconverter that is called LNB
LNB is the receiving device mounted on satellite dishes used for satellite TV signals in the satellite receiver, which collects the radio waves from the dish and converts them to a signal which is sent through a cable to the receiver inside the tuner.
How to Adjust Dish Antenna an LNB Skew Angle
The LNB is the part on a satellite television dish that is installed at the pipe centered to the dish antenna, its like straight arm. “LNB” stands for “low noise block-down” converter, and is often referred to as the “eyes” on the dish. This electronic device receives the digital signal from satellites and begins the process of converting the digital signal into TV broadcasting that your TV recognizes it and show channels on television. The LNB and dish must be perfectly focused on the satellites means its focal point should be perfect to getting receiving signals from satellites , and also are adjusted by setting the skew, elevation and azimuth of the dish antenna.
Connect your receiver to the television using the coaxial cable. Switch on the Power button on both devices TV and Satellite Receiver. The receiver’s remote, navigate to the Installation menu. Or Satellite Setup setting for adjusting dish antenna.
Select the “Satellite” first then select strong frequency in the TP List or ADD New TP(Transponder) Manually generally new TP Add from Green Button On Remote Control of your settopbox .After the select Frequency you need to align you dish antenna, the skew, elevation and azimuth settings for your geographic location. These settings are different for every city in the country.
Now for Adjusting Dish antenna go outside/terrace to the satellite dish. The elevation and skew can be preset on the dish before mounting the dish to the home. This will make the process of aligning the dish with the satellite much easier.
Then you can see behind the dish antenna there is mounting plastic bracket or iron bracket depend on Dish antenna brands but here you will find three bolt in the bracket, that is used in align dish also you can see angle measurements on it like our school geometry tool.
Loosen the three bolts that connect the pivoting parts with brackets. Rotate the dish antenna and trying to set the receive signal on the bracket to the recommended skew angle. Retighten the three bolts to hold the dish in the proper alignment.
When anchoring the dish’s mounting pole, make sure the pole is 100 percent vertical, or perfectly plumb, not tilted in any direction. The mounting pole must be vertically aligned so that the skew is accurate. A tilted mounting pole will affect the dish and LNB skew angle and make it more difficult to finish aligning the dish.
